Cape Town has a tiered personal safety landscape. The City Bowl, V&A Waterfront, De Waterkant, and Green Point areas are safe for tourists. Avoid the Cape Flats, Khayelitsha, and areas beyond Green Point after dark unless with a local guide. Uber is safer than walking in unfamiliar areas at night.

Arrive at Cape Town International Airport (CPT)1.5 hrs

Cape Town International Airport is 22km east of the city centre. The airport is modern and efficiently run. The Intercape coach, Uber, or metered taxi connects the airport to the City Bowl and V&A Waterfront. There is no passenger rail connection to the airport from central Cape Town currently.

Wave assignment is bib colour-coded by predicted finish time β€” submit an honest estimate for clean, ungrouped running. Course cutoff: 6 hours (13:00). Key spectator points: V&A Waterfront (km 8 and km 35), Bo-Kaap (km 16), Grand Parade finish. Table Mountain is visible for the majority of the course β€” an extraordinary and consistent backdrop that never grows old.
