Taxis and Uber operate directly from Abu Dhabi Airport arrivals. Yas Island is 25–30km from the airport — the journey uses the dedicated Yas Marina Road which is fast outside race weekend. During race weekend, allow additional time for road management.
💡 Tip: Book a return taxi for post-race via Uber or a pre-arranged hotel taxi — demand spikes dramatically after the final race and wait times can exceed 60 minutes.

Many race visitors base themselves in Dubai (better hotels, more entertainment) and use taxis or pre-booked car hire for the 90-minute drive to Yas Island.

From Abu Dhabi city centre to Yas Marina Circuit
Yas Marina Circuit is on Yas Island, which has its own hotel infrastructure. Most visitors either stay on Yas Island (no transport needed) or use taxis/Uber from Abu Dhabi city.
Yas Island free shuttle between hotels and circuit
During race weekend, free shuttle buses run continuously between all Yas Island hotels (W Abu Dhabi, Yas Viceroy, Marriott, etc.) and the circuit gates. Walk from gate to grandstand is 5–10 minutes.
💡 Tip: Staying on Yas Island removes all transport concerns and is the recommended approach for the Abu Dhabi GP. Book 6–12 months ahead — Yas Island hotels sell out completely.
Race day notes
- ·The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the final race of the season — a twilight start at 17:00 transitioning to a night finish under floodlights. One of the most visually impressive settings in F1.
