Official COTA shuttle from downtown Austin
Circuit of the Americas operates official shuttles from Palmer Events Center and other downtown pickup points. This is the strongly recommended approach β no public transit serves the circuit.
π‘ Tip: Book COTA shuttles at circuitoftheamericas.com β they sell out for race day. Shuttles significantly outperform rideshares on race day when demand surges and roads congest.
Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) β race day caution
Rideshare works well for practice and qualifying days. On race day, prices surge 3β5Γ and post-race waits can exceed 90 minutes. Use the official shuttle for race day specifically.
π‘ Tip: Pre-book a rideshare for non-race days. On race day, walk to the shuttle pickup even if it's 15 minutes away β it's reliably faster.
From Austin city centre to Circuit of the Americas
COTA has no direct public transport connection. All access is by personal vehicle (limited parking) or official shuttle buses from downtown Austin.
Official COTA shuttle from Palmer Events Center
Palmer Events Center (900 Barton Springs Rd) is the main shuttle pickup. Buses run continuously during race weekend. Return service runs until 2 hours after the last car crosses the finish line.
